Kroger Health Mobilizes Drive-Thru Testing

NEWSROOM -

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it many challenges and opportunities. At the Kroger Family of Companies, we’ve strived to learn and adapt along the way while making the safety of our associates and customers a top priority.

To further support a safe environment for all, our Kroger Health teams have mobilized across the country to provide free testing for our associates and others in our communities. In early April, our team of nurse practitioners, patient care technicians and more recently pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, began a multi-million-dollar investment to set up drive-thru COVID-19 testing sites for the general public and our associates in Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio. These tests are performed at no cost to the patient. Since then, Kroger Health, in partnership with certain governmental agencies, has provided 57,000 tests at 312 testing events 13 states. In addition, we have conducted 10 testing events exclusively for associates and five for critical partners in the grocery supply chain.

“At Kroger Health, we are proud to be part of the solution by enabling more Americans – including our own associates – to have access to testing while continuing to provide a safe environment within our stores,” said Colleen Lindholz, president of Kroger Health. “I’m so proud of our health care professionals for rising to the challenge and leading with humility, passion, and resolve.”
